Hampton Cygnets take on 15 mile challenge to support their championship journey

14 Jun 2026
The remarkable Hampton United Adult Inclusive Cygnets are once again showing the determination and team spirit that earned them promotion this season, as players and coaches prepare to take on a 15-mile fundraising walk around Ferry Meadows on 20th June.
Following a fantastic season in the Ipswich ICAN PAN Disability League, the Cygnets secured promotion from League 2 to the Championship, a tremendous achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication and resilience shown by everyone involved throughout the season.
Now, even after a long and demanding season, the team are continuing to put in the effort away from the football pitch. The challenge aims to raise £1,200 to cover the cost of hiring a minibus for the team, helping ensure that players can continue travelling together to fixtures and representing the club in the teams next season.
Preparations are already underway, after a training walk took place on the 6th June. It promises to be another test of determination, but if this season has shown anything, it’s that the Cygnets are never afraid of a challenge.
The fundraising effort also gives the club an opportunity to thank Fenland Accessible Transport Company (FACT), who looked after the team during their visit to Ipswich in April when the squad trialled accessible transport arrangements. Their support helped make the trip a memorable experience for everyone involved.
The Hampton Cygnets continue to be an inspiration both on and off the field, and the club is incredibly proud of everything they have achieved this season.
